Engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have begun to develop animal like robots. The first robot to be built and tested is the Cheetah Robot. The engineers believe that animal like robots have a variety of implications, including usage by police departments and on the battlefield for the military. There is a need to understand the possible benefits of such technology and its benefits.
