imageIn this activity, your students can learn more about heat and how it can affect different substances both on Earth and in space.  They'll get to make a simple device to test the phase change of water from ice to liquid, investigate the effectiveness of different shading materials, and talk about how MESSENGER uses a sunshade to stay comfortable at Mercury's short distance from the sun.
