Simple Machines: Rubber Band Car

The average car is fueled by gasoline and gets around 20 miles per gallon, but gasoline is an expensive source of energy that pollutes.  Many people want an alternative fuel source that is more affordable and environmentally friendly. This lesson will allow your students, grades 6-12, to create an alternative fuel source by building a car that is propelled by a rubber band.
