This lesson will introduce middle school students to the use of biotic and abiotic parameters to measure water quality. Abiotic factors include: water flow, temperature, pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, nitrates, phosphates, and fecal colliform bacteria.
