Florissant Fossible Beds National Monument is home to thousands of different kinds of fossils of plants and insects. This park features an exhibit, children’s interactive workbooks, and guided tours. There are even fossil excavation demonstrations open to all those who visit the park. Teacher education programs are available to teachers during summer so that they can learn about the paleontology/geology specific to Florissant valley, and take advantage the many field trip oppurtunities available for their classes.
The Morrison Natural Histroy Museum is a great place to take your kids if they like dinosaurs. Since most of the fossils on display are touchable, they’re almost guaranteed not to get bored. There are even tours included in the price of admission three times a day, so a tour guide will almost always be availableto answer all of your kids’ questions.
